Fears Over the Pandemic Grow

With 110 new positive cases of Covid, (103 local transmissions), and the shenanigans of the Savoy Palace end of year party, tension is high, especially since Porto Moniz, a municipality who thought it was safe from the virus woke up to find that one person had infected nineteen people, either directly or indirectly, forced dozens to self-isolate, including public officials, all through a days work of face to face meetings.

Curfew Begins at Midnight

The Regional Government has passed a resolution regarding the restriction of movement. The resolution states that “as of 00:00 on the 5th of January 2021, while the state of emergency is in force or there are municipalities at high risk, travelling on public roads is prohibited in the Autonomous Region of Madeira between 11 pm and 5 am, with the following exceptions:”
