Woman’s Body Found at Sea

The Captain of the Port of Funchal, José Luís Guerreiro, and Commander of the Maritime Police, confirmed this afternoon that members of the Maritime Police in conjunction with the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Sub-Center (MRSC Funchal) and crew from the Funchal lifeboat station had retrieved a woman's body that was floating in the sea, just off the bay of Câmara de Lobos".

Flower Festival Parade Cancelled – Or Perhaps Not!

According to RTP-Madeira the Regional Government has confirmed that the 'Allegorical Flower Parade,' scheduled for the 6th of September has been cancelled, however, the government has confirmed that the rest of the flower festival programme will remain as scheduled, including the Wall of Hope, flower exhibitions and concerts. 

Clean Funchal from the Sea to the Mountains Campaign

The Mayor of Funchal, Miguel Silva Gouveia, accompanied by the Vice-President, Idalina Perestrelo, thanked and presented certificates to the volunteers from the Public Security Police (PSP), National Republican Guard (GNR), Garrison Regiment nº3 (RG3) and the Madeiran Voluntary Firefighters (BVM) who participated in the global campaign 'Clean Up the World - Clean Funchal from the Sea to Mountains.'
