Everyone Needs An Emergency Kit

Richard Marques emphasises the importance of each citizen having an emergency kit that can guarantee survival during periods when normality disappears.

“It is essential that each citizen includes a 72-hour kit in their family planning,” he says. A kit that integrates a set of foods and products that can be used in any emergency scenario, ensuring temporary self-sufficiency.

The kit should be simple but complete, including hygiene products, food, a radio to receive updated information from the media, and a thermal blanket, among others. All suggestions are available on the Civil Protection website.

The Regional Civil Protection Survival Kit:

  • Water HydrationEnsure you have enough water for at least 72 hours.
  • Food SuppliesInclude non-perishable items like rice, pasta, and canned goods.
  • Lighting PowerPack batteries, flashlights, and power source for devices.
  • First Aid HealthInclude basic medical supplies and medications.
  • CommunicationHave means to stay in contact with emergency services.
These items help ensure that families can survive without outside assistance during critical
    times.

The official reinforces that, given the increased probability of extreme phenomena, it is crucial to keep the kit ready and up to date, in order to be prepared for any emergency situation.
