Two Scottish Tourists on Drugs

Two young tourists were assisted on Sunday night in Funchal after an alleged intoxication related to drug use, in what was their first drug-related experience.

According to JM, the two Scottish citizens requested help when they were at a Local Accommodation (AL) located in Rua dos Frias, after feeling unwell following the consumption of a substance they identified as hashish. The young people reported to the rescue teams that, after smoking the drug, they began to feel ill, which led them to contact 112 for assistance.

At the site, the two tourists, aged 19 and 21, who are on vacation in Madeira, were assisted by a team from the Portuguese Red Cross (CVP). After receiving the necessary care, the two young people chose not to be transported to a hospital or be admitted to the emergency department, insisting they remain at their accommodation.
