French Couple: Another Day of Searching

Thirty-six emergency service personnel carried out further searches for the missing French couple today. From 08:00 the GNR and the PSP concentrated their efforts on the coastline near to the Clube Naval de São Vicente. They were further supported by search and rescue teams and sniffer dogs.

Additional assistance came from the Regional Civil Protection Service, the Army, SANAS, and the Maritime Police who are using drones to survey the area.

The tourists, a French man and a woman aged 58 and 56 were last seen in the area of the Calhau site, in the municipality of São Vicente, on the north coast of the island, where they were staying on Saturday afternoon.  They were reported missing by their daughter, who instead of accompanying them on their walk decided to stay at their accommodation.

Our thoughts are for all those involved.
