The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea, has placed the north coast of Madeira and Porto Santo under yellow warning due to maritime unrest, as waves on the northwest of the island could reach 4 metres in height. The warning will remain in place until 6 pm today.

According to data released today by the Regional Directorate of Statistics of Madeira, the National Health Survey, which was carried out between September 2019 and January 2020, indicates that depression affects 10.4% of the island's population aged 15 and over. At 06.17 this morning, the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), recorded an earthquake registering 2.1 on the Richter Scale off the southwest coast of Ribeira Brava. The quake had a depth of 10 km.
