Tourism Webinar

The Confederation of Tourism of Portugal (CTP), in partnership with Publituris, is organising a webinar to be held on the 9th of February, starting at 10 am on 'O Estado do Turismo' (The State of Tourism). The event, which will be broadcast simultaneously on CTP's Facebook and Publituris website, aims to debate the current situation of Tourism, as well as to point out the challenges of achieving a lasting economic recovery."

Register For Your Vaccine

Those individuals who are not registered with the Portuguese National Health Service (SNS) and want to be included in the new Covid-19 vaccination scheme must register their interest.  The registration must be via the government website and further information can be found at https://covid19.min-saude.pt/vacinacao/ which explains all the proposed vaccination phases. 

I Will Wait My Turn

Paulo Neves, the Madeiran Deputy to the Assembly of the Republic, has stated that he will wait his turn for a Covid - 19 vaccination and that he does not need to be a priority candidate.  On his Facebook page he wrote: "As a deputy, I waive that possibility of priority and I will wait for my turn to be vaccinated."  However, he did agree that some politicians should be vaccinated early. 

Covid Is Not the Only Health Issue

Tempers became frayed during a parliamentary hearing this morning, as Communist Party Deputy, Ricardo Lume, categorically stated that 'Health is not just about Covid!' And that from conversations he'd had with various heads of health departments and specialists, he was astounded and alarmed at the lack of support and dedication being offered to other health modalities such as cardiology.

Madeira Free Zone – Inquiry Videoconference

The Eventual Inquiry Commission on 'The Public Service Concession Contract" called “Administration and Exploration of the Madeira Free Zone (MFZ) or International Business Centre of Madeira (IBIC)" and the acquisition of share capital of "Sociedade de Desenvolvimento da Madeira, SA," today unanimously approved the methodology by which the commission will hear evidence from four witnesses.

€106,000 For Keeping Levada Paths Clear

The Funchal City Council (CMF) has invested approximately €106,000 in deforestation, clearing, maintenance and recovery of the walking routes under the municipality's care.  According to the Mayor of Funchal, Miguel Silva Gouveia, the objective of these works, which will take place periodically throughout the year, is in direct support of the cleanliness and safety of the the majority of paths that are part of the Funchal Ecological Park walking network. In addition, firebreaks  and water drainage networks will be managed and maintained to protect the park.
