The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will officially open the new Covid in-patient unit at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital tomorrow, the 28th January at midday.
This new in-patient area has 10 wards and is equipped with pressure control, an adapted medical gas network plus the ability to install appropriate ventilators and will guarantee the safety of health professionals as well as providing a secure isolation area in relation to the hospitals other services.
The contract represents an investment of 1,219,992.17 euros, and with Madeira recording a further 191 cases of the virus today, we are going to need all the isolation wards we can find.
