Thieves Caught in Stolen Car

The Regional Command of the Madeira Public Security Police (PSP) has confirmed that they have arrested two men aged 38 and 40 years old for stealing a vehicle and goods ranging from mechanical and electrical tools, electronic devices, and clothing among other things, which they were preparing to sell on to someone else. 

Fining on The Sly

Public Security Police (PSP) officers have been accused of hiding as they operate speed camera's along Madeira's main arterial roads.  Apparently, they have been detected standing on overpasses, behind pillars and even in bushes, waiting to catch unwary and speeding drivers on camera.

Pharmacies, Jewellers and Petrol Stations Must Have Surveillance Equipment

With the number of thefts and break ins on the increase, the Regional Command of Madeira Public Security Police (PSP), will be visiting pharmacies, petrol stations and jewellers ensuring that all these establishments have working CCTV and burglar alarms, as well as providing information on how these systems should be used.

Vaccines Arrive

A further batch of 5,850 Pfizer arrived yesterday on a TAP flight.  The vaccines are currently stored at an airport warehouse, and will be transported under Public Security Police (PSP) guard to the the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital tomorrow morning.
