The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea, alongside the Regional Civil Protection Service, has advised that temperatures in Madeira will be around 30 - 34ºC from Friday the 11th until Sunday the 13th due to a tropical air mass.

The Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea has placed the south coast of Madeira and Porto Santo under an orange warning from midnight tonight until 17:00 on Saturday, the 12th of August.
The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for the archipelago of Madeira, for the north coast, south coast, and Porto Santo, until 23:00 tonight, due to high temperatures.

Thermometers in Funchal reached a new high this afternoon as temperatures soared to 38.7 degrees, beating yesterday's official temperature of 37.9, to become the highest value ever recorded in June.

Storm Oscar brought unprecedented levels of rain, with Areeiro recording levels of 604 millimetres per m2.
