2nd Day of Snowfall

As predicted by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA), Madeira woke up to a second day of a light dusting of snow on its highest peaks.

With deteriorating weather conditions, the island remains under an orange coastal alert. Waves are expected to reach 11 metres on the northwest coast.  This will remain in effect until 07:00 tomorrow morning, and be replaced by a yellow warning until 22:00 on Thursday, the 1st of May.

There is also a yellow wind warning which will remain in effect until 19:00 on Thursday.
