The Regional Civil Protection Service, as of today, has intensified its rural fire surveillance.
“As of today, an agent of the CR PSP Madeira or a soldier of the GNR – Territorial Command of Madeira will be stationed permanently at the Regional Command of Relief Operations (#CROS), who ensure the quick communication of information and coordination of the various surveillance teams and emergency service personnel involved in fire prevention.”
Between the 1st of June and the 30th of November, mobile surveillance teams will be operating throughout the region alongside personnel from local Fire Brigades, teams from the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation, RAM, GNR, PSP, and the Armed Forces.
Furthermore, the Civil Protection state, “whenever the increase in risk justifies it, land and air patrol actions will be expanded to strengthen the capabilities of detecting nascent fires, with an IFCN Liaison Officer, IP-RAM, being permanently in force. We are convinced that we will reduce the number of fires through teamwork.”
