This morning, Ponta de São Jorge, in Santana, recorded the highest wind speeds in the region as a result of Storm Joseph.
Gusts of 104 km/h were recorded early at 03:40, and just before lunchtime, wind speeds were still reaching 82 km/h. In Caniçal, at 9:40, gusts of 100 km/h were also recorded, which then dropped to 70 km/h.
At Madeira Airport, where the winds are usually stronger and regularly affect air traffic, the intensity remained relatively low this morning, with gusts around 30 km/h. However, during the night, at 01:10, wind speeds reached 80 km/h.
