The Grape and Farmers’ Festival in Porto da Cruz will not take place this year, the local Casa do Povo has announced.
In a social media post, the organisation’s management explained that a lack of funding and public support had made it impossible to hold the event “with its usual dignity and scale.”
The Casa do Povo do Porto da Cruz thanked the local farmers and producers, whom it described as “the reason this festival exists,” and expressed hope that the necessary conditions could be secured to bring the event back in the future.
The organisation has asked the community for its understanding.
