The Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has determined the closure of all classified walking routes in the Region tomorrow, the 12th of November, due to the weather warnings issued by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA).
The Forest Road that connects Eira do Serrado to Pico do Areeiro will also be closed in the same period, as a precaution. In a statement, the IFCN recommends that all residents and visitors follow the guidelines of the Civil Protection authorities and avoid taking undue risks.
The entity also appeals that any anomalous situations on the pedestrian routes – such as falling stones, branches, or trees that obstruct the trails – be reported to the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation, IP-RAM.
Concluding, the IFCN asks for an understanding of the preventative measures the IFCN has imposed due to the weather conditions.
