Hot, Dry Madeira

Madeira’s Regional Civil Protection Service has warned that temperatures are expected to rise over the coming days as easterly winds bring hot, dry air to the archipelago.

The Portuguese Institute for the Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) has issued a yellow warning for hot weather across Madeira and Porto Santo for Thursday, the 24th of September. Winds are expected to be light to moderate and mainly easterly, while humidity will remain low, particularly in the highlands. Suspended dust is also possible.

Hot, dry conditions and the yellow warning are expected to continue on Friday, the 25th of September. The warning could be extended until Saturday.

From Saturday, the 26th of September, winds are forecast to turn westerly, bringing a gradual drop in temperature and a rise in humidity.
