The Portuguese Naval ship, (NRP) Tejo left its naval base in Lisbon this morning en-route to Madeira, where it will remain until the end of October.

The Navy, in conjunction with the Funchal Maritime Search and Rescue coordination sub-centre, the captain of the Port of Funchal and the Regional Civil Protection Service, this morning rescued a crew member from a fishing vessel located 8 nautical miles south of Câmara de Lobos. According to the Navy the victim, a 57-year-old man, had deep cuts to his face made by a hook.
On the 18th of June the Portuguese Naval vessel NRP Andrómeda arrived in Madeira and will remain here until mid-July.
With the pandemic, it would appear that this years' ferry connection to the mainland has been forgotten.
