The Portuguese Naval ship, (NRP) Tejo left its naval base in Lisbon this morning en-route to Madeira, where it will remain until the end of October. As well as its naval duties, the vessel will be used for search and rescue missions, maritime surveillance and supporting civil protection agencies in any calamity or disaster situations.
The NRP Tejo is commanded by Lieutenant Tiago Oliveira Martinho, and has a combined crew of 27 officers and sailors.
