New Tourist Counting and Charges In Tourism Hotspots!

An experimental project started last Monday at Vereda das 25 Fontes, in Rabaçal, where the Instituto de Florestas, had a man on site to count the number of tourists visiting the area.   They are now looking at introducing an entry charge, similar to the one that is already in place at Cais do Sardinha.

Pedregal Hydraulic Tunnel Will Be Completed Next Summer

The Pedregal hydraulic tunnel, between Campanário and Serra de Água, will be completed in the summer of 2023, confirmed the Regional Secretary for the Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change, Susana Prada today during her visit to the reconstruction works of a section of Levada do Norte, affected by a landslide last March.

Cruz de Malta Humanitarian Association Visit Madeira

In meetings with both the Mayor of Funchal, Pedro Calado and José Prada, Vice-President of the Legislative Assembly of Madeira, a delegation from the Cruz de Malta Humanitarian Association, comprising of Lieutenant Colonel João Alvelos, chairman of the board and Admiral Luís Fragoso, former Chief of Staff, chairman of the General Assembly, discussed the possibility of collaborating with the Municipality of Funchal to create a work space for the organisation so that it can continue to develop its activities.
