Support for Farmers Guaranteed

During a presidential visit to Lamaceiros, Porto Moniz, where Miguel Albuquerque visited a three-hectare vineyard owned by Manuel Ramos Lucas and dedicated to the growing of Verdelho grapes, the President assured farmers that the government will continue to support agriculture and entrepreneurs within the sector.

Inspections on the Increase

Due to some establishments non-compliance of the new Covid-19 laws, the President of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque has categorically stated that the Madeira security authorities will increase the number of inspections carried out on commercial premises, especially at night.  In his statement, the President said "I think that, at this moment, we cannot relax. We are in the middle of a pandemic crisis, we have a situation in which we cannot allow potential contamination risks to occur.  We have to do everything possible to avoid any future problems." 

European Air Corridors – We’ll Be There!

While visiting Madeira International Airport Social Party (PSD) deputy Paulo Neves, made a point of highlighting Madeira and Porto Santo as ideal holiday destinations. “Madeira and Porto Santo are currently the safest holiday destinations in the world, and with the new passenger control systems recently introduced at both airports, coupled with the efficiency and professionalism of those who work there, we are continually working to boost passenger confidence and defend the health of the populations of both islands.”

Portugal – Take Your PCR Test in Your Country of Residence

According to an order published today in Diario da Republica, non-Portuguese citizens, individuals without a residence in Portugal, or those who arrive without a negative PCR test certificate will have to take a test at their arrival airport and pay for it themselves. In addition, the airline with whom they travelled with will be fined €1,000 per passenger.
