€106,000 For Keeping Levada Paths Clear

The Funchal City Council (CMF) has invested approximately €106,000 in deforestation, clearing, maintenance and recovery of the walking routes under the municipality's care.  According to the Mayor of Funchal, Miguel Silva Gouveia, the objective of these works, which will take place periodically throughout the year, is in direct support of the cleanliness and safety of the the majority of paths that are part of the Funchal Ecological Park walking network. In addition, firebreaks  and water drainage networks will be managed and maintained to protect the park. 

Flower is Missing

Unfortunately Flower has been missing since the 31st of December from her home in Chamorra, Santo António (Funchal).  Her family are desperate to find her, and ask if anyone has seen her, to call them on  968 375 940, 960 382 432 or 969 114 685.

Curfew Begins at Midnight

The Regional Government has passed a resolution regarding the restriction of movement. The resolution states that “as of 00:00 on the 5th of January 2021, while the state of emergency is in force or there are municipalities at high risk, travelling on public roads is prohibited in the Autonomous Region of Madeira between 11 pm and 5 am, with the following exceptions:”

Help Find Pluto

Pluto, a light brown dog, has been missing from his home in ​​São Martinho, close to the area of ​​the Hotel School since the 30th of November.  He was last seen on the Levada dos Piornais, close to the Hotel School.
