Access to the Ninho da Manta Viewpoint from PR1 – Vereda do Areeiro will be temporarily closed on the 19th and 20th of August, the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation (IFCN) has announced.
The section connecting the main PR1 trail to the viewpoint will be closed for safety reasons while improvement work is carried out. This will include repairing the steps and securing the metal supports.
The remainder of PR1 – Vereda do Areeiro will remain open as usual, including the route to Pico Ruivo.
“We ask all visitors to respect the signs and safety instructions in place,” the IFCN said, apologising for any inconvenience caused.
