PSD MP Paulo Neves yesterday praised the AD Government’s commitment to funding Madeira’s future Central and University Hospital during a parliamentary debate attended by the Minister of Health.
Speaking during a detailed discussion of the 2027 State Budget, Neves contrasted the Government’s approach with what he described as nine years of inertia and a lack of political will under successive PS governments.
“The Government of the Republic is committed to funding 50% of the third phase of construction of Madeira’s new hospital. In doing so, it has not only fulfilled its promise but also demonstrated that it is sensitive, attentive and committed to finding solutions that matter to Madeira,” he said.
Neves also welcomed progress with the tender process, noting that three consortia are competing for the third phase of construction.
He added that the future hospital would be “a centre of excellence,” with a focus on research that would benefit the whole country.
