The body of a 27-year-old young man was recovered this morning from the escarpment of Ponta de São Lourenço, in the municipality of Machico. The body was located at a height of 80 m, suggesting that the man may have slipped and fallen.
The information was confirmed to DIÁRIO by José Matos, Director of the Judiciary Police of Madeira.
The Municipal Firefighters of Machico, the Maritime Police, the Public Security Police (PSP) and the Judiciary Police were at the scene. Due to the location of the body, the incident came under the responsibility of the Maritime Police.
So far, no further details have been made available about the circumstances of the man’s death.
