Three Women Drugged

Three young women aged between 17 and 18 were assisted in the early hours of Tuesday at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, after allegedly ingesting drinks to which a substance had been added without their knowledge.

The incident occurred between 02:00 am and 03:00 am, on Rua das Fontes, in Funchal, mobilising resources from the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters and the Portuguese Red Cross. The Public Security Police (PSP) was also called to the scene, and are now investigating the situation.

According to JM, the girls were accompanied and began to manifest signs of intense sleepiness, feeling faint, and momentary loss of consciousness, symptoms compatible with the possible ingestion of a substance containing a sedative.

The young women are aged between 17 and 18 years old.
