Big Drugs Haul in Porto Santo

The Regional Command of PSP Madeira said that on Saturday, the 14th of June, the PSP seized a large amount of synthetic drugs coming off the Lobo Marinho in Porto Santo.

As part of the exchange of police information between islands, the police of Porto Santo inspected and intercepted two women as they disembarked the ship.

One of them, aged 30, born in Madeira, had in her possession 1938 individual doses of a synthetic drug known as ‘Bloom’ and 160 individual doses of a synthetic drug known as ‘Gorby Mix.’

The citizens were arrested and later discharged, as it is necessary to carry out a laboratory examination of the drugs to confirm their identity.

The investigation process will follow under the guidance of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and if the substances prove positive, the two will be tried under drug trafficking laws.

This is the largest seizure of synthetic drugs recorded on the island of Porto Santo by the PSP, and it is estimated that the market value of the sale of this product would be around 40 thousand euros.

This operation marks the beginning of the inspections that will be carried out by the PSP in the summer season, on and around the Lobo Marinho, as police information is passed back and forth between the two islands.
