Medical Help For Bees

The Regional Secretary for Agriculture and Rural Development, Humberto Vasconcelos, will midday tomorrow distribute 2,000 units of veterinary medicines for the therapeutic and prophylactic treatment of varroasis (a parasitic mite that affects honeybees), to 280 beekeepers, which will allow approximately 9,000 hives to be disinfected against the deadly virus.

Distribution will take place at the Quebradas Agronomic Development Centre in São Martinho, and the initiative is expected to cost around 38,000 euros.
