Launch of National Pollinator Network

 Professor Dora Pombo, from the Faculty of Life Sciences of the University of Madeira, has been invited to join the first national network of pollinators, Collaborative Network for the Evaluation, Conservation and Valorization of Pollinators and Pollination Services (polli.NET), which will be launched tomorrow, the 5th of June as part of World Environment Day.

The projects launch will be broadcast live through Facebook and YouTube at 4 pm, and includes a roundtable discussion dedicated to raising peoples awareness of the vital importance pollinators have on our everyday life.

Polli.net comprises of approximately 82 people with varying backgrounds, and aims to promote pollinator research, assessment and monitoring, increase awareness and knowledge, improve assessment tools to support decision-making, and implement pollinator-friendly practices.
