Foreigner Suffers Fall

A foreign man, whose age was not possible to ascertain, was injured after falling at Praia do Gavinas, Funchal. A team from the Funchal Fire Department (CBSF) were called to the scene, and as yet no further details have been released.

With the number of thefts and break ins on the increase, the Regional Command of Madeira Public Security Police (PSP), will be visiting pharmacies, petrol stations and jewellers ensuring that all these establishments have working CCTV and burglar alarms, as well as providing information on how these systems should be used.

Technical-Scientific Study of North Coast Weather Needed

The Portuguese Communist Party (PCP) deputy Ricardo Lume has presented a draft resolution to be discussed and voted on this week at the Plenary of the Legislative Assembly of the Autonomous Region of Madeira, which advocates the undertaking of a technical-scientific study to identify the factors and situations that amplified the destructive force of the storm which battered the north of the island on the 24th and 25th of December.
