A police officer was attacked on Saturday morning at Rua das Fontes, in Funchal, when he and other Rapid Response Brigade officers officially closed a bar that was flouting the new health and safety rules. The bar, which was busy with youngsters was open after midnight and selling alcohol, while its patrons continued to gather in a public space.
