New Vaccine Portal Now Online

On the 26th of December a new Portuguese vaccine portal was launched which aims to provide the population with “all the details” concerning the new vaccine campaign which started on the mainland on Sunday, the 27th of December.

In a statement the Minister of Health, Marta Timedo, said that the new portal provides information on the vaccination in clear and simple language as well as answering  many of the questions the population may have on this subject, such as: “Is the vaccine effective? Is the vaccine safe? What are the different types of vaccines that will be administered in Portugal; Who are the priority groups?”

These are just some examples of the questions answered on the portal. In addition to these more general questions, there is also a Facts and Questions (FAQ’s) area covering specific aspects such as the vaccines side effects and what to do after being vaccinated.

Among the main highlights of the page is an on line questionnaire that the users can complete to establish when he or she will be called forward by the health authorities for vaccination.

In addition to this tool, contacts and helplines are also available and should be used by citizens who want to know more about the vaccination process.

The new page,  is available on the Directorate-General for Health website and the Government portal “Somos On” (https://covid19.min-saude.pt/vacinacao/) and (https://covid19estamoson.gov.pt/vacinacao-covid19/).

Throughout 2021, this page, which was designed by the Government in close conjunction with the task force, DGS and the Ministry of Health’s Shared Services, will feature periodic updates on the progress of the vaccination campaign, as well as other important news and developments.
