At 16:00 this afternoon, the IPMA network of weather stations in Madeira recorded extreme values that justify the issued warnings.
In Chão do Areeiro, maximum wind speeds reached 121 km/h (orange warning) at 15:40, while at Pico do Areeiro the minimum temperatures dropped to -1.8 ºC, with equally negative values in Chão do Areeiro.
16.5 mm of rain fell in Santana in an hour and 35.9 mm in six hours (both intervals correspond to yellow warning levels). In the Funchal/Observatory, the highest maximum temperature of 20.5 ºC was recorded at 10:20 this morning.
