The mayor of Santa Cruz, Élia Ascension, today challenged the Government to acquire Café Relógio during her speech at the solemn session marking the 31st anniversary of Camacha’s elevation to village status.
“I remember the state of degradation of the Café, and today I am issuing a challenge to the Regional Government to pay attention to the acquisition of this iconic space for Camacha, a space of value and tourism relevance for the Region, but also a lynchpin for the people of Camacha.”
The new Mayor argues that the Café is a building of natural heritage, and deserves to be renovated and restored to its former glory.
