The figures are not surprising as DREM (Statistics Institute) has regularly updated the media with data proving that deaths far outweigh live births. Due to a decline in the population, there will be 1,301 fewer students attending the new school year.
The total number of students in the Region is expected to be 38,884. This downward trend is expected to continue until 2030/31.
