Provisional data provided to the Regional Directorate of Statistics by the Madeira Regional Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) show that, in the 1st quarter of 2025, 922 traffic accidents with police intervention were recorded. A 9.8% increase on the same quarter last year.
Figures show that 294 people (46 more than in 2024) were affected; 274 suffered minor injuries, 17 were seriously hurt, and unfortunately, 3 people died due to their injuries.
