The Oncology Service of the Regional Health Service of the Region (SESARAM) has achieved a significant advance in the field of clinical research through the inclusion of the first national cancer patient in the international clinical trial ‘TROFUSE 007.’ A study dedicated to new therapeutic approaches in the treatment of metastatic lung cancer.
SESARAM explains that the trial, entitled ‘Randomised, Open-label, Phase 3 Study of MK-2870 in Combination With Pembrolizumab Compared to Pembrolizumab Monotherapy in the First-line Treatment of Participants With Metastatic Non-small Cell Lung Cancer With PD-L1 TPS ≥ 50%’, aims to evaluate the clinical impact of a new therapeutic combination, with potential to transform the paradigm of first-line treatment of the advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma.
Under the coordination of medical oncologist and principal investigator Carolina Camacho, and the coordinator of clinical trials at GECO – Office of Clinical Trials in Oncology, Sara MĂĽller, this project represents an exemplary collaborative effort between several hospital specialties and services, including medical oncology, Pharmacy, Clinical Pathology, Pathological Anatomy, Radiology and Nursing oncology.”
