2.7 Magnitude Earthquake Recorded

An earthquake registering 2.7 on the Richter scale was recorded late this morning, at 10:41 am with a 10 km epicentre.

According to information collected by the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea, (IPMA), this quake occurred on the continental shelf that connects the island of Madeira to the Tore seamount.

 It should be recalled that yesterday, the 28th of September, the Seismic Network of the Madeira Archipelago registered at 11:17 am a 2.2 magnitude earthquake off the southeast coast of the Desertas.
