A statement issued by the Regional Secretariat for Economy, Tourism and Culture confirms that, through the Regional Authority for Economic Activities (ARAE) the ‘Apolo’ Restaurant in Funchal has been closed down.
In response to local newspaper, JM’s questions, the communication office of the secretariat led by Eduardo Jesus revealed that the restaurant closed due to an inspection, but did not specify whether the closure was due to food safety or another situation.
So far, a spokesperson for the ARAE has stated, “there was an inspection action against the company in question. This action determined the temporary suspension of the company’s economic activity license.”
