Conforama See Garden Furniture Sales Rise

Last updated on 15th June 2025

Conforama, the home decor retail chain with stores in Portugal and Spain, recorded “a growth of more than 87% in their garden category” during the first months of 2025.

In a statement, the company, which has a store in Viveiros, Funchal, highlighted that “in Portugal, between January and May, the brand sales doubled compared to the same period of the previous year, with an average increase of 87%.”

This boost is due to a new marketing strategy by Conforama, which allowed the garden campaign to be extended to 12 physical stores in Portugal, compared to 50% last year, in some cases in a very residual way. The integration of the company into the XXXLutz Group has allowed Conforama to strengthen its logistics chain and ensure greater availability of this type of product.”

According to Iván Díaz, head of Conforama’s Garden area, “this growth reflects our strong commitment to a category with great potential; the garden. At the same time, it highlights the growing interest of consumers in enjoying their homes, especially outdoor spaces, with the arrival of good weather. This trend is driving steady growth in the category. Our renewed strategy, based on an attractive and accessible offer at all points of sale, is connecting perfectly with new needs and consumption habits.”

Although Conforama has several categories with greater market breadth and depth, such as sofas, kitchens, and decoration, its garden line is gaining relevance within the company’s portfolio.

The statement does not clarify, however, the performance of the Funchal store in this category. It only mentions that, after a renewed strategy and the growing interest of consumers in outdoor spaces, garden products globally have doubled their weight compared to 2024 and already represent 1% of the brand’s total turnover.
