Gas Solidarity Programme Resumes

The Regional Secretariat for Equipment and Infrastructures, through the Regional Directorate of Energy, informed press agencies today that the Gas-Solidarity.RAM Programme has already been resumed, as established in Ordinance No. 179/2025, of the 13th of March.

The support maintains the value of 20 euros per month per consumer, and may represent significant annual savings per household. Currently, more than 3,200 families from Madeira and Porto Santo benefit from this programme.

With this measure, the Regional Government thus reaffirms its commitment to social support and relief of the financial effort of the most vulnerable families in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

The Gás-Solidário.RAM support programme was created in 2021 by the Regional Government of Madeira, aiming to support financially distressed families living in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, as the Social Tariff for Natural Gas does not apply to the territory, as there is no supply of natural gas to homes.

Thus, the Gás-Solidário.RAM Support Programme is aimed at beneficiaries of the Social Tariff for Electricity, guaranteeing a direct discount on the purchase of the first bottle of LPG of the month or their monthly piped gas bill.

Beneficiaries only need to go to one of the participating operators, present their Citizen Card and the electricity bill containing the Social Tariff for Electricity. The process is simple and automatic, and no prior registration is required.

For further information, please contact the support entities using the Gás-Solidário.RAM Support Programme, whose headquarters and distribution services are located in the different municipalities of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
