The Regional Command of the Public Security Police of Madeira has confirmed they have arrested a 44-year-old citizen, living in the municipality of Ribeira Brava, for possession of a prohibited weapon.
The occurrence took place in the parish of Campanário, following a report of alleged firearm shots from a moving vehicle. The police were immediately sent to the scene and intercepted the vehicle being driven by the shooter and his partner.
According to the police, they found several prohibited weapons, including a baseball bat, a knife, and an axe. Additionally, the suspect had a razor, which was also seized.
A house search was authorised, but no traces of firearms, bullets, or evidence of a firearm being discharged were found. However, due to the weapons already found, the man was arrested for possession of prohibited weapons.
