The Regional Command of the Madeira Public Security Police joined forces with Pingo Doce over Easter and helped in the distribution of food baskets for the elderly. The initiative was called ‘Support 65 – Elderly in Safety.”
The initiative is part of a police care in the community programme, which provides additional police presence in areas frequented by the elderly as well as raising awareness and carrying out home visits.
“This Easter, the unprecedented partnership carried out in the Autonomous Region of Madeira included three joint teams from the PSP and Pingo Doce and provided a basket of joy for 55 people living in the Municipalities of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos, Ribeira Brava, Calheta, Santa Cruz, Santana, and Porto Moniz.
