Apple Farmers Training Course

A training course, promoted by the Regional Directorate of Agriculture and Rural Development, on the cultivation of the apple tree brought together 39 trainees, in Santo António da Serra.

According to a statement from the course providers, this initiative is part of the reinforcement of technical support to Madeiran farmers, “in order to provide participants with the knowledge and practical skills that contribute to better quality and greater production quantity of local apples.”

The Regional Director Marco Caldeira is convinced that this is the right path and argues that the proximity of the Regional Government to the farmer has to be permanent.

The next training action will take place in São Jorge, on the 16th of March. All actions start at 10:00 a.m. For more information and/or registration, interested parties should contact the Agricultural Technical Assistance Division at 291 211 260 or data.dra.srap@madeira.gov.pt.
