Operationality at Madeira International Airport has been severely conditioned today as nineteen flights – divided between arrivals and departures were either cancelled or diverted.
According to ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, six flights were affected this morning, and another 10, scheduled for the period between 15:10 and 18:40, were cancelled, while three aircraft were diverted.
So far strong winds have adversely affected 35 flights – 16 on Tuesday and 19 today.
The archipelago of Madeira has been under a yellow warning for wind and maritime unrest since Sunday and will remain so until 06:00 tomorrow (Thursday).
