The Regional Directorate of Health, in partnership with the Municipality of Funchal, and FrenteMar, is carrying out a new innovative project – “Fruta Fresca na Praia” -, an initiative created by the Regional Strategy for Healthy and Safe Food (ERPASS).
The “Fresh Fruit on the Beach” project allows those using the Lido and Ponta Gorda bathing complexes, since July 2022, to purchase fresh locally produced fruit. This initiative consists of a pilot project, which is intended to be disseminated to other leisure contexts, aiming to make healthy food options available.
ERPASS’s objective is to to create healthy environments, and provide healthy food options as well as take into account environmental sustainability as well as promote Madeira’s fruit farmers.
All items are packaged in recyclable materials.
