Monkeypox: Numbers Increase in Portugal

A further ten cases of Monkeypox have been confirmed in Portugal, bringing the total number to 49.  Most of those affected are living in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, the Directorate-General for Health (DGS) announced today, however cases have also been detected in the North of Portugal and the Algarve region.

“All confirmed cases are of men aged between 26 and 61, with the majority being under 40 years old.” Stated the DGS, who went on to add that all those affected are attending outpatient clinics and are in a stable condition.
