New Alzheimer’s Centre is Unique

During his visit to the Dragoeiro’ Alzheimer’s Centre, the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, thanked Father Bernardino Trindade for all his help and support during the past couple of years in supporting Madeira’s most vulnerable citizens. He then further expressed his gratitude to the entire team at the ‘Alzheimer Centre, for all their hand work in creating a centre of excellence.

Addressing those present, he said: –

“Considering that people are very pessimistic, the world has changed for the better. Improvements in science allows people who are suffering from a host of degenerative diseases to live longer, and receive the proper medical care and support that they need. This, is a unique centre!”

Work began on the centre in 2014, with the acquisition of a property worth 250 thousand euros. A further 2 million euros has been spent on refurbishment and essential and non-essential equipment.
