With a total of twenty-five arrivals and departures yesterday, Madeira International Airport and its employees were under pressure, especially as seven flights arrived in the space of an hour.
A video sent to local newspaper JM shows the build up of passengers in the departure lounge, especially at the Transavia check in desks, as those travelling with the airline had been unable to check in online, leaving long queues and little or no social distancing.
