Ambulance Driver Training

If like me, you’ve heard emergency service sirens all day, then rest assured that it is all part of an emergency and defensive driving course which will run until the 28th of May.

The sudden rise in ambulance activity gave cause for concern as they hurtled through the streets of Funchal, as worried residents sent several location reports to local newspaper JM.

However, a statement was issued this evening stating that the Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC) is carrying out, in partnership with the National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM), an intensive course for future emergency vehicle drivers.  The theoretical classes will be held at the SRPC facilities in Cancela, while the practical element of the course will take place throughout the streets of Funchal, and therefore it will be natural to see more than one ambulance driving around the capital until Friday.
