Fur Seal Returns to Paul do Mar

The fur seal that was recently spotted in Paul do Mar, today returned to its new resting place.

In response to the news, the President of the Junta de Freguesia, Paulo Rodrigues, asked Nature Park Officers to attend the scene so that they could help with the identification of the seal, and confirm whether it was the same one that was spotted on the beach a few days ago.

According to biologist, Rosa Pires, the seal is a female called Manchada.

A report released later this evening confirms that the seal is indeed called Manchada, and she is 19 years old.

People are being advised to leave the seal alone as she is a protected species.
